Malta does not offer an independent Chiropractic Council which would regulate the profession in order to protect both patients and practitioners, in relation to Health & Safety and Education Standards.
However, the title of ‘Chiropractor’ in Malta is protected, in fact it is illegal for anyone to call themselves a chiropractor unless duly registered with the council.
Currently, nine practitioners are registered under the Chiropractic Register held by the CPCM, none of which is of Maltese origin:
An updated list of all, or a single practitioner verification, may be obtained contacting the registrar of the Council.
Ultimately, to further improve the quality and safety of care, every patient should check the European and International Standards for Institution accreditation, to ensure complete compliance with the European Council of Chiropractic Education.
